Three Noxapater athletes take first in Region meet

Jarrius Carter, Trevara Miller and Treasure Lynch all took first-place honors in their individual events in the Region 3-1A Track Meet held at Winona on Saturday. All athletes who finished fourth or better in their individual or relay events qualified for the 1A South State Meet which will be held at St. Andrews in Jackson on Saturday.
Carter won the boys 800 meters with a time of 2:18, while Miller was first in the boys discuss with a with a toss of 117 feet, 7.50 inches, and Lynch won the girls triple jump with a distance of 33 feet, 0.5 inches.
In other girls events, Margreta Bridgeman was third in the 100 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles, while Lynch was second in the 100 meters. Kiera Phillips took second in the 200 meters, while Olivia McDonald was third in the 400 meters. TreKena Carter was fourth in both the discus and shot put, while Bridgeman took third in the high jump, Triplett fourth in the long jump and Phillips second in the triple jump.
In other boys events, Carter was second in the 1600 meters, while William Chris Johnson was fourth in the 400 meters.
Miller was second in the shot, while Tyrell Carter was third.
