The Friday game in Noxapater saw Cathedral’s Sam Parker and Gabe Smith combine to toss a two-hitter as the Greenies once again won 10-0. Ty Brown had a pair of doubles to lead the winners at the plate.
Earlier in the week Noxapater dropped a 9-3 non-playoff decision to Scott Central. The game was tied 2-2 after two innings, before the Rebels hit for two in the third, one in the fifth and two each in the sixth and seventh innings to take the win.
Manley Peterson bashed a double to lead Noxapater at the plate in the game while Keonte Daniels and Brandon Kugle had a single each.
The Lady Tigers fell to Natchez Cathedral 13-3 and 7-3 in their first round MHSAA Class 1A State Fast-Pitch Softball Playoffs series.
Cathedral took a 13-3 home win, then posted a 7-3 win over the Lady Tigers in Noxapater.
The win moved Cathedral into the second round where the Green Waves will now take on Sebastopol in a best-of-three series.
