Traipsin’

Traipsin’ with Lynne Cunningham

In D.C.

Visiting a grandmother for Thanksgiving in Washington D.C. allowed me to be a guest of my friend, a grandmom, and her daughter’s family in our nation’s capital amidst all the iconic sites of governments and history plus a groaning board of traditional feasts as well. The Library of Congress houses a treasure trove of artifacts and artwork including Thomas Jefferson’s personal library from Monticello. Hillwood Estate, home of Post cereal heiress, Marjorie M. Post, is a home-museum with art treasures from around the world including an imperial Faberge Easter Egg.

In Maryland

Maryland offers may delights to the visitor; yummy crabcakes, unique marshlands, home and haven to waterfowls, turtles, blue crabs, and wild and free ponies who claim Chincoteague Island as their private domain. Reba and Lance Greer owned a vacation home, a 100 year old cottage, while they were living in Washington D.C.(now retired in Oxford). Their pretty blue cottage is now a home to a new family of four.
