Winston Medical Center will host its annual healthfair on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. The event will be held at the First Baptist Church in Louisville from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
“We have over 50 vendors coming from all across the state to offer free health services and information,” stated Brandi Krajewski, WMC Marketing Director. Flu shots will be available at the health fair. Medicare receipants may bring his or her Medicare card to the healthfair and receive a flu shot. Individuals who are not a Medicare receipant may purchase a flu shot for $15 at the booth.
WMC will be providing glucose, Lipid, and PSA screenings that will require attendees to be fasting. It is important that individuals do not eat or drink anything past midnight for accurate results.
Vendors will be providing bone density screenings, anxiety, depression, dementia screenings, blood pressure checks, glucose checks, eye pressure checks, oral health care, a dementia trailer will be onsite, United Blood Services will be on site, MDOT will be at the event with device that shows how a 5 mile per hour impact can make one feel. “There are lots of opportunites at the event and we hope that everyone will come out and support us,” stated Krajewski.
