Woman with local ties earns recognition

Melonie Moore Washington was named the NFHS (National Federation of High School) cheer coach of the year for the State of Mississippi.

She is the varsity cheer coach for Neshoba Central High school in Philadelphia, Ms.

Under her leadership, the Rockets Cheerleaders have captured two (2) State Championships (2010, 2011)

Despite their hard work and determination they were placed 2nd  in 2009 and 2012.

She is the daughter of Houston and Martha Moore of Philadelphia, MS

She is the granddaughter of Mary Dean Coleman and the late Clarence Triplett and the Great-grand daughter of the late John and Lucille Jones all of Louisville, MS.
