Working Women – Park members aim to honor Ruth Eichelberger Bennett

Ashtyn Mitchell had her life saved by Ruth Eichelberger Bennett from the tornado that hit Louisville, MS on April 28, 2014.
Her mother, Sheena Mitchell,

approved recently for Friends of Dean Park, Inc. to have a mural of her daughter and her daughter’s hero, Ruth Eichelberger Bennett, painted in Dean Park, Inc. Bennett, owner of Ruth’s Daycare Center, is credited with saving the life of Ashtyn – but lost her own life.
The Friends of Dean Park are seeking donations to match a grant that they received last month for a walking track for Dean Park, however, because of the damage done to the park by the F-4 tornado, they had to focus the grant on a different project. They decided to renovate the concession stand in the park. They need to raise $3,000 to complete this project.
The project will include renovation of the concession stand in the park and naming it ‘Mrs. Ruth’s Babies Concession Stand’. Mrs. Ruth called the children at her daycare her ‘babies’. Some of the children in her daycare were from the neighborhood surrounding Dean Park.
Please send your tax deductible donation of any amount to: Friends of Dean Park, Inc. Mrs. Ruth’s Concession Stand Project P. O. Box 365 Louisville, MS 39339
 They are a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.
“Ruth Eichelberger-Bennett was a woman that showed dignity, love and respect for all,” said  Elmetra Patterson, vice president/cofounder Friends of Dean Park, Inc.
